Congress demands voting through ballot paper: Congress has announced a nationwide campaign demanding ballot paper voting. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge gave this information on Tuesday (26 November). He said, ‘We want the elections to be held through ballot paper and for this we will run a campaign across the country on the lines of Bharat Jod Yatra.’
‘Elections should be conducted through ballot paper’
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, ‘One thing I would say is that the votes cast by OBC, SC, ST and weaker sections are being wasted. We say drop everything and demand voting through ballot. There are many warehouses in Ahmedabad, where machines are taken and kept. Our only demand is that the elections should be conducted through ballot paper. If this happens then these people will know where they stand.
Mallikarjun Kharge also raised the issue of caste census. He said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi is afraid of caste census. But they should understand that every section of the society wants its share and is also demanding it.
After Maharashtra elections, the opposition has once again raised questions regarding EVMs.
After Mahayuti’s spectacular victory in Maharashtra Assembly elections, the opposition has once again raised the issue of EVMs. Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) leader Sanjay Raut says, ‘There should be elections again and if voting is done through ballot paper then the results will be correct.’ Not only this, this time Sharad Pawar has also expressed doubt on EVM. It is noteworthy that the Election Commission has been continuously rejecting the doubts being raised regarding EVMs.
