Bhagalpur, June 22 (HS). For the first time, the biggest ever action was taken against overloaded vehicles at various places in the district. The team of Bhagalpur, Banka and Jamui started the raid at 11:00 pm which continued till 7:00 am on Saturday. In the raid of about 20 hours, 126 overloaded vehicles were seized and a fine of 36 lakh rupees was collected from 35 trucks. A team of police, mining transport and district administration officials were involved in the raid.
Bhagalpur Sadar SDO Dhananjay Kumar said that a campaign was launched against overloaded vehicles and instructions were issued to all police stations for this. 80 overloaded vehicles were caught in Bhagalpur subdivision, 36 in Kahalgaon and 10 in Navgachiya. The vehicles caught in the urban area of Bhagalpur have been kept in the airport premises. MVI Nishant Kumar said that a fine of Rs 36 lakh has been collected from 35 trucks.
