Kolkata doctor rape-murder case: The Calcutta High Court has ordered a CBI inquiry into the rape and murder of a trainee doctor of RG Medical College. The High Court has asked to hand over all the documents to the CBI immediately. During this, the High Court reprimanded the West Bengal government for appointing the principal of the medical college as the principal of another college.
The division bench headed by Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam asked whether the police has not yet arrested the then principal of RG Kar Medical College, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. Why was Sandeep Ghosh not questioned? The High Court said that there is some deficiency in the investigation. When Dr. Sandeep Ghosh has resigned from the post taking moral responsibility, then how can he be appointed in another medical college immediately after resigning? First of all, he should have been questioned but it was not done.
The Calcutta High Court asked the West Bengal government to send Sandip Ghosh on a long leave. If you do not do anything, we will have to pass an order. During the hearing, the High Court has asked the question that when a student died, why was no complaint lodged by the principal in that case? This raises suspicion.
