Raipur, 7 August (HS). An important decision was taken to constitute Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve in the cabinet meeting held at his residence office here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
It is noteworthy that it has been decided to notify Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve in an area of 2829.387 sq. km. by including the areas of Guru Ghasidas National Park and Tamor Pingla Sanctuary located in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Surajpur and Balrampur districts. The Forest and Climate Change Department has been authorized to take further action for its formation.
The formation of Tiger Reserve will lead to the development of eco-tourism in the state. Along with this, various types of employment will be generated for the villagers living in the core and buffer areas along with guides, tourist vehicles, resort operations. Additional budget will be received from the National Project Tiger Authority to work in the Tiger Reserve, so that new works of livelihood development can be done in the villages of the region.
