Air India Express News: A day earlier it was revealed that Air India had to cancel more than 80 of its international and domestic flights due to simultaneous 'sick leave' of crew members. Now, Air India Express has taken a strict decision in this matter and fired 25 members of the cabin crew. News agency ANI has received this information from sources. According to him, the airline company has soon issued a statement regarding this matter. The matter came to light that the Ministry of External Affairs had sought a report from Air India Express on the flight cancellation and had asked it to ensure engine facilities as per the instructions of civil aviation regulator DGCA.
Why did Air India Express employees go on “sick leave”?
The employees accused the airline of mismanagement. In this regard, the employees had also written a letter to Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrashekhar on 26 April. In this, the employees wrote that due to lack of assurance from the Finance Minister, many people have been fired from their jobs. The employees said that the requisite allowances given to them have been stopped and their salaries have been drastically cut.
What did Air India say?
An Air India Express spokesperson said, “We are in touch with the crew members to understand the reason behind these incidents. Our team is actively working to minimize any inconvenience caused to passengers. We sincerely apologize to our guests for the inconvenience.” Passengers affected by flight cancellations will be offered a full refund or an alternative flight date.
