Butterfly Park will be built in Kushinagar, foreign tourists will be attracted

Kushinagar, 06 July (HS). The Forest Department has planned to develop a Butterfly Park in Kushinagar, an international tourist center. Kulkula forest has been selected for this. The government has sought a proposal for this. The Forest Department has started preparing the plan. Once the park is developed, it will also become an important center of attraction for Indian and foreign tourists coming to Kushinagar.

Kulkula forest under Social Forestry Division Kasya Range has various types of trees and plants which are suitable for butterflies. Many species of butterflies are present here. The forest department has planned to develop a butterfly park by bringing some more species of butterflies in Kulkula. Kulkula is an ancient historical site related to Lord Buddha. Here is the confluence of Hiranyavati, Kakuttha and Sonra rivers. In the 250 acre forest area, wild animals like langur, peacock, porcupine etc. also live in large numbers.

There are about two thousand species of butterflies in the world. One thousand five hundred to one thousand seven hundred species are found in India. The average lifespan of most species is 30 days. Some species of butterflies live only for six to seven days.

Regional Forest Officer Jayant Singh Rana said that there are various types of trees and plants suitable for butterflies and many species of butterflies present in Kulkula forest. There is an instruction to make a plan to develop the park by increasing some more species of butterflies here. Further action will be initiated after approval and budget clearance.
