Businessman shot multiple times in Ghaziabad, UP, family members allege political rivalry during civic elections

news agency PTI According to reports, several rounds of bullets were fired at a businessman in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh late on Monday night over alleged political rivalry during the recently held civic elections.

A businessman named Ankit is undergoing treatment in the local hospital. Doctors told that his condition is serious.

Pradeep Jatav, a relative of the businessman, said Ankit was threatened, verbally abused and shot several times.

Jatav alleged that Ankit was pressured to vote for someone who was not of his choice. When he refused, the accused tortured him.

“My nephew was shot because of political rivalry. Civic elections had just taken place and while we were with our community, they were pressured to vote for someone else. When he refused, he was threatened, verbally abused and shot several times. His condition is critical,” said Pradeep Jatav. to PTI told .
