The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has said that a total of Rs 4.25 lakh crore will be spent on weddings during this period. The wedding season in India always increases business opportunities as well. In the first half of the year, i.e. between January 15 and July 15, 42 lakh weddings took place. In a survey conducted under the title *Band, Baja, Baraat and Market*, stock broking firm Prabhudas Lilladher said that about Rs 5.5 lakh crore was spent on weddings. Of course, there were 60 Muhurta days in FY 2023-24, while there were 49 Muhurta days in FY 2024-25. About one crore weddings take place in India every year. The Indian wedding industry is the second largest in the world.
With weddings now behind us, expenses have taken a new direction. The focus is on interactive activities and customisation. These can include multisensory food counters, drone shows, audio invitations in place of traditional kankotri, DIY lipstick or bangle making stalls, charter inflight entertainment and more. Gifting portal FNP's wedding vertical is expected to grow its revenue by 30 per cent to 40 per cent this year compared to last year. Currently, bookings are full at all wedding venues.
In addition, Shaadi Central platform and FNP Floor have been launched for imported flowers and decorations to facilitate wedding planning. Wedding setups cost anywhere from Rs 2 crore to Rs 10 crore to be viewed in 3D. This year too, there have been many cases of NRIs hosting such weddings in India. More than 50 percent of NRI weddings were held with nostalgia and grandeur. Services of luxury catering firms are also availed. In which new dishes are served.
