Saharsa/Supaul, March 01 (HS). Two persons died in a collision between a bus and a truck on Friday afternoon at Asanpur Kupaha toll plaza on NH 57 in Supaul district. While more than three dozen people were injured.
Regarding the incident, it is being told that a pickup vehicle loaded with fish and a truck were collecting toll tax. Then the Maa Sheetal Travels bus going from Purnia to Delhi went out of control and hit the truck. A pickup vehicle laden with fish in front of the truck hit Yogendra Tiwari, 37-year-old son of Vinay Kumar Tiwari, resident of Ballia, UP district Balrampur, Khalwanagar Ballia supervisor of toll plaza, due to which he was seriously injured. The bus driver was arrested at Basopatti police station of Madhubani district. Sanjay Kumar Raut, 37, son of Ramvriksh Rawat, resident of Khona village Ward 02, got seriously injured after getting stuck in the cabin of the bus. He was taken out of the cabin in a critical condition by the toll personnel with the help of a crane.
Both the injured were admitted to the sub-divisional hospital Nirmali in the ambulance of the toll plaza. Where the bus driver Sanjay Kumar Raut died during treatment. Toll plaza supervisor Yogendra Tiwari, who was seriously injured, was referred to DMCH Darbhanga.
Toll plaza manager Bhidi Pandey said that supervisor Yogendra Tiwari died on the way. Eyewitnesses said that about 65 people were traveling in the bus. Chandan Kumar, resident of Gorkha village ward four of Triveniganj police station area, Devipatti ward number of Pipra police station area. Sonu Kumar, resident of 11, Arun Kumar and Manoj Kamat, resident of Chauhata ward number 06 of Kishanpur police station area, are undergoing treatment in Nirmali Hospital.
Raju Sada, Shivani Kumari of Supaul Dakahi Ghat village, Vasudev Mukhiya, resident of ward number 08 of Chandpipar Panchayat and Mo Siraj of Basha village of Pipra police station area were treated by the doctor at the Community Health Center Saraigarh Bhapatiahi. Medical officer in-charge Dr. Ramniwas Prasad said. After treating seriously injured Mohd Siraj, he was referred to Sadar Hospital Supaul. Other people traveling in the bus also suffered injuries and are admitted in another hospital. Regarding the incident, Kishanpur Police Station President Prashant Kumar Rai said that two people have died in a road accident. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. The pickup and bus damaged in the incident have been confiscated.
