If an MP is absent from a session for less than 15 days, he gets travel allowance.

Apart from this, MPs get the facility of free travel in the first class coach of the railway for some journeys and there are some rules regarding the family as well. In this, family members also get concession on some journeys. At the same time, steamer facility is given to the MPs of Andaman Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. According to the official website, each MP is given Rs 20,000, Rs 4,000 for stationery, Rs 2,000 for letters and money for staff. Overall, an MP gets Rs 1 lakh as salary, about Rs 70 thousand as constituency allowance, about Rs 60 thousand as office expenses and daily allowance.
