Bumrah was ready to leave India and go to Canada for cricket, told this to his wife

Jasprit Bumrah: Jasprit Bumrah, who started his career from Ahmedabad and became one of the legendary medium pace bowlers not only in India but in the world, shared some memories from his past. Jaspreet, in a conversation with his wife Sanjana Ganesan, revealed that at one time our family was thinking of settling in Canada after I completed my studies. However, due to my mother's decision we had to leave this Plan-B and I was successful in making a prominent mark in Indian cricket. If this had not happened, today I would have been trying to play cricket for the Canadian team.

After completing his studies he had to settle in Canada

Bumrah said that playing cricket is every player's dream. There are five players in every street of the country who want to play for the country. In such a situation a backup plan is necessary. One of our relatives lives in Canada, so we thought that after studies we will settle there (Canada).

Bumrah said, “You should have a backup plan. Our relatives live there. However, I thought that I will complete my studies and then…my uncle lives there. However, my mother did not want to go there because it is a different culture.” I'm very happy and very fortunate that that decision worked out. I am happy that I am playing here for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians.”
