A golden opportunity has emerged for the youth who dream of getting a government job in the country’s largest commercial bank ‘State Bank of India’ (SBI). Central Recruitment and Promotion Department (CRPD) of SBI has released the official recruitment notification for appointment to more than 3000 vacancies under various cadres. Every year lakhs of youth eagerly wait for SBI recruitment due to stability in the banking sector, attractive pay scale, social prestige and excellent career growth. This time, this mega-recruitment campaign has been started by the bank for Junior Associates, Specialist Officers and other technical and management posts.

As per the official notification released by SBI, the vacancies have been divided for different categories and circles:

  • Clerk/Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales): The posts are being filled on a large scale for customer service, cash handling and banking operations in various states and circles across the country.

  • Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO): Recruiting experienced professionals for technical and management areas such as IT, Cyber ​​Security, Systems, Credit Analyst, Risk Management, Digital Platforms and Marketing.

  • Circle Based Officer (CBO) and other posts: Recruitment to additional posts is proposed to strengthen operations in various regional circles.

  • Reservation Rules: In the total vacancies, complete provision of category-wise reservation has been made for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disabled (PwBD) candidates as per the rules of the Central Government.

Candidates are selected in SBI on the basis of a transparent and multi-tier process:

  • Step 1: Preliminary Exam: Online Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 marks consisting of a total of 100 objective type questions from English Language (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (35 questions) and Reasoning Ability (35 questions). The time limit is 1 hour.

  • Step 2: Main Exam: Candidates successful in Prelims have to appear in Mains examination. In this, questions of 200 marks related to General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning and Computer Aptitude are asked.

  • Step 3: Local Language Test (Language Proficiency Test – LPT): A test in the local language of the respective state is conducted for the candidates who qualify the Mains exam (those who have studied that language in 10th or 12th are exempted).

  • Step 4: Interview (for SCO posts): For Specialist Officer and higher posts, merit list is prepared on the basis of direct personal interview and group discussion after shortlisting.

  • Negative Marking: There will be a deduction of one-fourth (0.25) marks for each wrong answer in objective examinations.

  • Step 2: Open the ‘Current Openings’ section


    Go to the homepage and click on ‘Current Openings’ option under ‘Join SBI’ menu.

  • Step 3: Read the relevant recruitment notification and select ‘Apply Online’


    Click on the relevant recruitment advertisement and open the ‘Apply Online’ link.

  • Step 4: Do New Registration


    Click on ‘Click here for New Registration’ and enter your name, active mobile number and email ID. After this you will receive a provisional registration number and password on your mobile and email.

  • Step 5: Fill personal and educational details


    Login and fill your complete form, in which select the correct address, educational qualification, category and preference of examination centre.

  • Step 6: Upload photo, signature and documents


    Scan and upload your latest passport size color photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the prescribed size and format.

  • Step 7: Online payment and printout of application fee


    Pay the prescribed application fee (approximately ₹750) for General, OBC and EWS category candidates through Net Banking, Debit Card or UPI (fee is not payable for SC/ST/PWD candidates). After successful payment, take a printout of the filled form and keep it safe for future.

  • Application before last date: There may be technical glitches on the bank server due to heavy traffic in the last days, hence candidates should complete the registration on time without waiting for the last date.

  • Authenticity of Documents: All the information filled in the form (name, date of birth, name of parents) should exactly match with the 10th class certificate and Aadhar card.

  • Applications from only one circle/state: Candidates can apply for a single State or Circle, filling different forms from multiple States may lead to cancellation of candidature.
