Bulldozers ran on Imran Khan's party headquarters, police force deployed; PTI said- thief government…

Islamabad: The party has launched an anti-encroachment drive after the Capital Development Authority demolished a part of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's central office in Islamabad. The government has imposed a political ban. The sanctity of the party office has been violated.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan, while talking to media outside the office, said that the CDA had no permission for the operation and no notice had been sent during the last two years.

Barrister Gohar said the government has violated the sanctity of a political party office despite it being the most prestigious complex after Parliament. The PTI chairman further claimed that there was no illegal construction on the building.

He said that even if there was occupation, the CDA should have sent a notice before taking action. Meanwhile, PTI Islamabad shared a post on Twitter condemning the vandalism at its party office.

There was an armed attack and vandalism on the central office of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf late last night. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Fatwa strongly condemns the attack in the dark of night by the rogue government on the country's largest political party. Reiterating its commitment “not to succumb to intimidation, anarchy and indiscriminate use of force and not to retreat in any way from the agenda of true freedom…”.

Apart from this, PTI General Secretary and Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Umar Ayub accused Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi of conspiring for illegal activities in the party office. He said that PTI is being unfairly targeted and he will fight this battle in a legal manner. He said,

We will summon Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad before the Privileges Committee of the National Assembly.

Earlier, the anti-encroachment team of the CDA on Thursday demolished a part of the PTI headquarters and launched a drive to remove illegal construction and encroachment. According to details, the anti-encroachment team along with the district administration reached the PTI headquarters and sealed it.

Meanwhile, police personnel along with heavy machinery have been deployed outside the PTI central office. CDA officials say that illegal constructions of political parties' offices are being demolished.

According to ARY News report, the plot on which the PTI office has been constructed is under investigation as it has been allotted to a person named Sartaj Ali.
