Lucknow, 15 December (HS). Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati said on Sunday that her party will support the central government on the issue of ‘one country, one election’. Along with this, he said that if the government makes any amendment in the Constitution to benefit its party or any particular person or institution, then BSP will not support it.
During a press conference at her residence in Lucknow, Mayawati attacked the political parties while referring to the discussion regarding the Constitution in the Parliament. He said that this year also a heated discussion is going on in the Parliament on the glorious journey of 75 years of the Constitution. The importance of this discussion and its usefulness is possible only when it is accepted with an open mind whether the ruling class has been able to provide employment, justice and a life of self-respect and self-respect to crores of people of the country as per the sacred intention of the humanitarian and welfare Constitution?
He said that if the parties ruling the country till now had maintained their true loyalty, honesty and patriotism in implementing the Constitution properly, then the condition of our country would not have been so bad today. Here, due to lack of employment, about 80 crore people are not forced to live a life dependent on a little government food grain to satisfy their hunger.
Even now, the farmers, labourers, traders and working people here along with the students, youth, women and elderly, all of them are very worried and worried about their problems. It is clear from this that the Constitution has not failed but the people and parties ruling the country have worked to fail the Constitution of the country.
Mayawati further said that this is the reason why when a special discussion is being held in the Parliament regarding the Constitution, the same old slogans are being used especially between the Congress and the BJP. Allegations are being made that you are more guilty than us, as if you are doing narrow politics.
The BSP chief said that after listening to the government and the opposition in the discussion taking place in the Parliament, it seems that they have now politicized the Constitution to a great extent in their own political interests. On this occasion, someone is putting a copy of the Constitution on his forehead and someone is busy showing it by holding it in his hand. Now, under the guise of this, important issues of country and public interest are also being sidelined.
Mayawati said that our party wants to tell the people as a matter of caution that this time during the discussion on the Constitution in the Parliament, the government and the opposition also tried to woo the votes of these sections, especially the Congress-SP. -A lot of absurd things have been said regarding reservation for ST and OBC categories. There is not even an iota of truth in this.
The anti-reservation mentality of BJP is also clearly visible, which is in no mood to get it passed. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi has also announced to end the reservation of these classes when the right time comes. Whereas BJP and other opposition parties are no less in this matter. Even now, the thinking of the government and the opposition to make reservation ineffective and to end it seems to be almost the same.
Mayawati said that in the context of the many amendments made so far in the Constitution of the country by the government and the opposition, I would like to say that if the government amends the Constitution to benefit its party or any particular person or institution, then our party will Will not support this. Will oppose it strongly.
