BSF jawan Amit cremated with military honors

Palamu, July 8 (HS). The body of BSF Jawan Amit Shukla (30 years), son of Upendra Shukla, resident of Singra of Medininagar Sadar police station area, was brought home on Monday morning. The body was brought in a coffin wrapped in the tricolor in a BSF vehicle. While bringing the body, the youth of the village were going ahead on motorcycles and shouting slogans for Amit Shukla. As soon as the dead body reached home, the family and other relatives started crying loudly. The atmosphere of the village became more sad.

After the last darshan of the body at home, the last journey was taken out for cremation, in which MP VD Ram, former minister KN Tripathi, RJD leader Mamta Bhuiyan, BJP district president Amit Tiwari, BJYM district president Jyoti Pandey and other dignitaries reached the spot and met the bereaved family and consoled them. It is to be told that Amit Shukla died in a road accident in Jammu Kashmir on Saturday morning. BSF jawan Amit Shukla was coming home on leave from duty to attend the wedding of his cousin. On Friday night at 10 o'clock, he left Chhindwara camp in a Xylo vehicle to go to Jammu railway station. Eight jawans of the 26th battalion of the Border Security Force were also travelling with him. All of them had left the station to catch a train to go to their home on leave. The high-speed Xylo overturned in the Chenani Nashri tunnel of Jammu. In this accident, Amit Shukla died on the spot, while the rest of the jawans are injured. There is mourning in the entire area due to Amit's death. Amit Shukla was the eldest among five siblings. He has two brothers and three sisters. He got married 1 year ago. His wife is pregnant. He was posted in Chhindwara, Kashmir a year ago. He was reinstated in the Border Security Force seven years ago.

Military honours were given. After the body arrived home, the district police jawans saluted before the last rites. After this, BSF jawans gave military honours before the last rites on the banks of river Koel. A huge crowd of people gathered to bid final farewell to Amit. Everyone was calling Amit a martyr. Slogans like Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram, Jabtak Suraj Chand Rahega, Amit Tera Naam Rahega, Shaheed Amit Amar Rahe were being raised. When Amit's body arrived in Medininagar late on Sunday evening, it was kept overnight at the CRPF's 112th Battalion Headquarters.
