Agartala, 08 August (HS). The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully brought back 17 Indian workers trapped amid violence in Bangladesh. These workers were constructing the four-lane road under construction from Akhaura to Kishoreganj. They were taken to Bangladesh for work by a company called AFCONS Infrastructure Private Limited.

They were stranded in the camp at Ramrel in Bangladesh. In this regard, Inspector General of Tripura Frontier BSF Patel Piyush Purushottam Das was requested over the phone. They were all headed towards Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP). They sought help from BSF on Wednesday evening for a safe passage from the ICP.

The BSF immediately coordinated with Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB). In coordination with both BSF and BGB, BGB ensured safe movement of the workers to the ICP. After expediting the customs and immigration process, they were handed over to BSF officials at ICP Agartala this morning.
