Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis: BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis will be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Fadnavis’s name was approved in the BJP MLA’s meeting in Mumbai. The BJP high command sent Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as central observers.

BJP Legislature Party meeting was held in the Central Hall of Vidhan Bhavan. In the beginning, while giving the address, Central Observer Vijay Rupani appealed to the BJP MLAs to present a proposal for the Chief Minister. In which it was advised that, if Joe brother does not propose his name…’ Hearing this condition of Vijay Rupani, the MLA started laughing loudly. The atmosphere in the hall was relaxed and people had smiles on their faces. Sudhir Mungantiwar and Chandrakant Patil were the first to come on the stage and proposed the name of Fadnavis for the Chief Minister.

Everyone agreed with Fadnavis.

Later, other fellow MLAs also proposed Fadnavis’ name on the stage. Other BJP MLAs also supported Fadnavis’ name by knocking on the table. BJP MLAs did not propose any other name. At last Vijay Rupani asked, ‘If you want to present someone else’s name, you can come.’ The leaders present in the meeting unanimously agreed on Fadnavis’ name. Vijay Rupani later said, ‘I think only one name has been proposed, right?’ The leaders agreed on this. Rupani asked for the second time, ‘Is there any other proposal?’ So the MLAs unanimously said, ‘No’.

Slogan of ‘Together we are safe’

When Fadnavis’ name was announced, he was sitting with the MLAs in front of the stage. The observers called Fadnavis on the stage and welcomed him and congratulated him. After which Fadnavis addressed the meeting of MLAs. Fadnavis said, the results have made it clear that if we remain united then we are safe. We have got a one-sided victory in Maharashtra. I am grateful for this order. Thanks to Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for supporting me. Now Mahayuti leaders in Maharashtra will meet the Governor today at 3.30 pm and stake claim to form the government.
