The British Government has also made some advance payment to Rwanda for this. Under the proposal, refugees would be able to apply for British citizenship after being deported to Rwanda. Those who are approved will settle in the UK, but those whose applications are rejected will be deported back to their home countries.
According to the report, in the year 2022, 45,744 illegal refugees reached Britain by crossing the English Channel in small boats.
