It has been two years since the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Due to this, America has once again shown a tough stance against Russia. America has imposed more than 500 new sanctions against Russia. Along with America, Britain and the European Union have also imposed new sanctions against Russia. While imposing the sanctions, US President Joe Biden said that today I am announcing more than 500 new sanctions against Russia because of the ongoing war to occupy Ukraine and the death of courageous anti-corruption activist Alexei Navalny.
50 countries around the world with Russia vs Ukraine
Biden said the sanctions would hit individuals linked to Navalny's imprisonment, as well as other sectors, including Russia's financial sector, defense industrial base and procurement networks, according to a statement released by the White House. Biden said that Putin has had to pay a heavy price for aggression around the world. Along with America, 50 countries of the world are standing with Russia against Ukraine. We are committed to holding Russia accountable for its aggression.
Biden further said that the people of Ukraine are brave. They are determined to protect their freedom and future. They will continue to fight with Russia. NATO is stronger and more united. Apart from this, Biden has also imposed new export restrictions on 100 organizations that indirectly aid Russia. We are taking action to further reduce Russia's energy revenues.
Britain imposed new sanctions on Russia
Britain has also imposed new sanctions against Russia. Announcing the new package of sanctions, Britain said it was trying to reduce President Vladimir Putin's arsenal and war. It announced a package covering more than 50 individuals and organisations. Foreign Secretary David Cameron said, “Our economic pressure has had an impact on Russia.”

Apart from Britain and America, the European Union (EU) has also taken action. On Friday, the EU banned 27 companies registered in India, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Turkey. EU imposes sanctions on second anniversary of Russia-Ukraine war. The names of these companies have not been disclosed in the statement issued by the European Union.
