In which direction to install and what are its Vaastu rules
According to Vastu Shastra, it is considered best to always install the idol or picture of Panchmukhi Ganesh ji in the north or east direction of the house. While installing the idol, take special care that the face of Lord Ganesha should be towards the main entrance of the house, so that no negative power coming from outside can enter the house. Placing this auspicious idol in the south direction should be completely avoided, because this direction is not considered auspicious in Vastu.

As a rule, it is mandatory to perform Bappa’s Aarti, camphor lamp and offer Modak or Durva every morning and evening. If you cannot follow strict rules at home or there is often discord in the house, then it is better to keep a sitting idol of the common one-headed Ganapati in place of the Panchmukhi Ganesha.
