Prayagraj, 21 February (HS). Brigadier Aman Anand took command of Chhattisgarh and Odisha sub area at a ceremony held at Naya Raipur Military Station on Wednesday.
Sameer Gangakhedkar, Wing Commander and Chief Public Relations Officer of the Defense Ministry, said that Brigadier Aman Anand, commissioned in the Kumaon Regiment in 1995, has served in prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments. He commanded troops in the Kashmir Valley, the India-China border, the Siachen Glacier and South Sudan. He has unique experience of serving in some of the most sensitive deployments including maritime domain and air-ops. He has headed a military think tank in the past and was the army spokesperson between 2017-21.
He told that he was promoted as ADG Media by the Government of India during the heightened tension between India and Pakistan (Balakot). A national level equestrian and service champion in precision shooting, he carried the baton for India at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. On assuming command of the formation he complimented all ranks of Chhattisgarh and Odisha Sub Area for their excellent work and encouraged them to continue serving the formation and the nation with dedication, passion and enthusiasm.
