Delhi Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in view of the VVIP movement and the convoy of heads of state on the last day of the much-discussed BRICS Summit (BRICS Summit 2026) held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan in the capital Delhi. Today, the movement of normal vehicles on many major routes of New Delhi, Central Delhi and South Delhi has been completely controlled or diverted. The Traffic Police has appealed to the common citizens to use Delhi Metro as much as possible instead of private vehicles and leave home with extra time to go to the airport or railway station.
Due to VVIP movement, traffic will be completely restricted or regulated on major corridors around Lutyens Delhi and Bharat Mandapam:

Bharat Mandapam and Central Delhi: Mathura Road (Bhairon Marg to W-Point), Tilak Marg, Purana Qila Road, Bhagwan Das Road, C-Hexagon (India Gate Circle), Sikandra Road and Copernicus Marg.

Lutyens Zone and New Delhi: Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg and Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg.

South Delhi and connectivity routes: Lodhi Road, Max Mueller Marg, Africa Avenue, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, Joseph Broz Tito Marg and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg.
Delhi Police has fixed 22 major diversion points for smooth movement of vehicles in the city:

W-Point (Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk): Vehicles coming from Mathura Road and Tilak Marg are being diverted towards Bahadur Shah Zafar (BSZ) Marg and IP Marg.

Connaught Place (Outer Circle): Traffic from Kasturba Gandhi (KG) Marg and Janpath towards C-Hexagon is being diverted to alternative routes such as Minto Road, Panchkuian Road and Barakhamba Road.

Patel Chowk and RML Roundabout: Vehicles heading towards Parliament Street and Windsor Place were diverted towards Ashoka Road and GPO.

Lodhi Flyover and Oberoi Flyover: Vehicles going from Mathura Road towards Bharat Mandapam are being diverted towards Ashram Chowk via Lodhi Road and Neela Gumbad.

Dhaula Kuan and Moti Bagh flyover: Traffic going towards Sardar Patel Marg has been directly diverted towards Ring Road and Vande Mataram Marg.
If you need to reach New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi or IGI Airport today, use these alternative routes suggested by the traffic police:

For New Delhi Railway Station: Use the Connaught Place Outer Circle route from Kashmere Gate ISBT → Rani Jhansi Marg → DBG Road → Panchkuian Road. Passengers coming from South Delhi can reach Ajmeri Gate side via Ashram Chowk → Ring Road → Rajghat → JLN route.

For Hazrat Nizamuddin Station: The alternative route of AIIMS → Ring Road → Ashram Chowk → Mathura Road is open.

For IGI Airport (T1, T2, T3): Traffic police stopped airport passengers Airport Express Line of Delhi Metro It is strongly advised to take. Passengers traveling by road should take Mahapalpur-Rangpuri Service Road via NH-48 towards Terminal-3 instead of Dwarka Route (UER-II) or Dhaula Kuan.

Metro fully operational: According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), metro services are running normally on all lines. No station has been completely closed.

Route diversion of city buses: DTC and cluster buses are not allowed in the controlled Lutyens zone; They are being run through the Outer Ring Road and other link routes.

Exemption to emergency vehicles: Ambulance, fire brigade and medical emergency vehicles are being given green corridors on priority basis and are being allowed to pass without any hindrance.

No-entry on commercial vehicles: Strict restrictions on the entry of non-essential heavy and medium commercial vehicles (Commercial Goods Vehicles) in Delhi will continue till the end of the summit.
