Breaking news from America, four people sleeping in a train shot dead | News India

Chicago: A fugitive accused of brutally killing four sleeping passengers on a train on the second Labor Day in Chicago, USA, has been caught. Police said that 30-year-old Renee S. Davis of Chicago has now been charged with four counts of first degree murder.

According to a report, the victim was travelling on the Blue Line train to Forest Park Terminal on Labor Day. The accused murdered him around 5:30 am while he was sleeping. Chicago Transit Authority employees cleaning the train found three bullet-riddled bodies. All three were shot in the head from close range.

The fourth victim was found in another train. He had a bullet wound in his stomach. The police immediately rushed the victim to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. The accused who was absconding after the murder was caught on the basis of CCTV footage at around 7 am on the same day. A Glock handgun was recovered from accused Davis.

According to a police officer, Davis started shooting near the Harlem station on the Oak Park-Forest Park line, one stop before the terminal. Davis was wearing a mask at the time. Initial investigation revealed that the accused did not know any of the victims. Also, the accused did not attempt robbery. The cartridges found at the scene turned out to be from the accused's Glock handgun.
