Geneva, May 7 (HS). Brazil continues to top the first FIFA Futsal Women's World Rankings published on Monday. After Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Colombia, Thailand, Russia, Iran, Japan and Italy are in the top 10 respectively.
Costa Rica (20th), New Zealand (26th) and Morocco (59th) are the highest-ranked teams from their respective regions.
The first FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup will be held in 2025, although FIFA has not yet announced the host and date of the tournament.
In October, Brazil won its third consecutive futsal Copa America Femenina title, scoring 51 goals and conceding just one.
Wilson Saboia's team also won the FIFA tournament in March, which featured teams such as Japan, Portugal and Spain. The Brazilian team includes one of the most exciting and greatest players in women's futsal history, Amandinha, as well as golazo goddess Emily Marcondes. Other outstanding Brazilian players include Tati, Lucilia and the fast-rising Ana Luiza.
At the same time, Spain has won all three UEFA Women's Futsal Euros, the last of which defeated Ukraine 5–1 in the final. Anita Lujan, who just returned from anterior cruciate ligament surgery, and Peck, who was MVP in the last continental final, are widely considered the best players in the game.
