Brakes of a private school bus fail, hits corporation officer's car | News India

Dhamtari, 28 August (HS). Due to brake failure, the school bus collided with the car of a corporation officer coming from the front. The accident caused screaming among the students in the bus. The bus stopped near the debris, otherwise a major accident could not have been ruled out. All the children in the bus were safe. After the incident, the students were dropped home by another bus.

According to the information received from the City Kotwali Police, on August 28, a bus of a private school operating in Ratnabandha Road of the city was going to drop 40 students home, when the brakes of the bus failed near Amaltaspuram and Akashganga Colony on Gokulpur Road. It became difficult for the driver to stop the bus. In such a situation, the bus hit the car of the Municipal Corporation officer coming from the front and stopped in the debris near a hotel. If there was no debris in front, a major accident could not be ruled out. This incident caused screaming among the students in the bus. The children were in panic after the incident. After the accident, all the children were dropped home by another bus. Bus driver Santu told that the brakes of the bus had failed. The bus stopped when debris came in front, otherwise it was difficult to stop the bus. After the incident, the traffic police and City Kotwali police reached the spot and started investigating.
