Brainstorming went on for hours in the government departments of Ghaziabad for the betterment of the climate of the district.

Ghaziabad, 21 October (Hindustan Reporter). To improve the climate of the district, District Magistrate Indra Vikram Singh held a meeting for several hours on Monday with officials of Municipal Corporation, GDA, Pollution Control Board, Irrigation Department and other related departments. In the meeting, the District Magistrate gave instructions to create coordination among the authority officers to prepare the District Ganga Plan. He said that Grape Stage One has been implemented for effective control of air pollution, hence the officials of the concerned departments will have to take strict steps for this.

In the meeting of the District Ganga Committee at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium Collectorate, the District Magistrate asked the Irrigation and Water Resources Department, Municipal Corporation and the departments under it, Ghaziabad Development Authority and Urban Development Department, Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board for cooperation in making the “District Ganga Plan”. The work should be completed as soon as possible by nominating one nodal officer each from the Control Board, Social Forestry Forest Department, District Ground Water Management Department, Health Department, Agriculture Department, Mining Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Public Works Department and Industry Department. Gave instructions to get it done.

During the meeting, all the factors causing water pollution were discussed in detail. In which the factors of polluted water coming from factories, factories, drains, washing companies, houses, companies, rivers, ponds, fields etc. falling into the said river were discussed in detail. Along with this, there was also discussion about the use of water for domestic and other purposes including drinking water in the district.

During the meeting, on the release of Stage-1 of the Commission for Air Quality Management Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for effective control of air pollution in the NCR region, efforts were made to make the people of the district fully aware about the GRAP Stage-1 and It was decided to implement it effectively.

AQI increases in Delhi NCR. As per AQI, Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is implemented by the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas. According to AQI, grapes are classified into different categories. Different stages of grapes i.e. Stage-I 'Poor' (AQI 201-300), Stage-II 'Very Poor' (AQI 301-400), Stage-III 'Severe' (AQI 401-450) and Stage- Under IV 'Severe+' (AQI >450), action is taken by various departments as per the instructions issued by CAQM, such as water sprinkling on roads, mechanical sweeping of roads, smooth operation of traffic, effective steps to control pollution in construction works. These include lifting, action against polluting industries, effective action against burning of garbage etc.

Due to Air Quality Index (AQI) being more than 200 in Delhi and other NCR areas, Stage-1 of the group has been implemented. A total of 06 hot-spots (Sahibabad, Rajnagar Extension, Loni, Bhaupura Delhi Border, Vasundhara, Siddharth Vihar/Kanawani Pusta Road) have been identified in Ghaziabad district, in respect of which an action plan has been prepared. Under the plan, effective actions are being taken by the concerned departments as per the action plan. So far, a fine of Rs 23 lakh has been collected from 09 industrial units.
