India's young boxer Nishand Dev qualified for this year's Paris Olympics by reaching the semi-finals of the Boxing Olympic Qualifiers in the 71 kg weight category. Nishant, a World Championship bronze medallist who narrowly missed out on an Olympic ticket in the previous qualifiers, defeated Moldova's Vasile Sabotari 5-0 in the quarter-finals. Before Nishant, women boxers Nikhat Zareen (50 kg), Preeti Pawar (54 kg) and Lovlina Borgohain (75 kg) have qualified for the Paris Games. Five quotas were up for grabs in the men's 71 kg category.
