Firozabad, 4 December (Hindustan Reporter). Rasoolpur police station team has arrested smuggler Intezar Ali alias Raju alias Intyaz Ali, who was involved in illegal drug smuggling with a reward of Rs 15,000, in an encounter late on Tuesday night. The smuggler who was injured by a bullet in his leg has been admitted to the hospital.
Additional Superintendent of Police Countryside Akhilesh Bhadauria said that Rasoolpur police station in-charge Anuj Kumar was on patrolling with the police team on Tuesday night when information was received that the drug smuggling accused Intezar Ali alias Raju alias Intayaz Ali, son of Shamsul Hasan, resident of Kohinoor Road, Noornagar police station. Ramgarh village is going from Maudha towards Khanjapur. On receiving the information, the police team started checking on the road leading from village Maudha to Khanjapur. Meanwhile, a motorcycle was seen coming from village Maudha, which was stopped by the police team and the accused riding on it opened fire on the police team. The accused was shot in the leg in retaliatory firing by the police team in self-defence. The accused was arrested in injured condition and immediately sent to the government hospital for treatment. One pistol 315 bore, one spent cartridge 315 bore, two live cartridges 315 bore, one motorcycle without number have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
ASP said that the arrested accused was absconding as he was wanted in a drug smuggling case. A reward of Rs 15,000 was announced by the SSP for his arrest. In the case in which Intezaar Ali was wanted, his associate Shakeel alias Haji had earlier been arrested with 1 kg 250 grams of hashish.
