Beirut: Deputy Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Elias Boussab, told reporters on Monday (today), “There are no serious obstacles to the 60-day ceasefire proposed by the US.”
It is noteworthy that the Israel-Hezbollah war, which has been going on for more than a year, has intensified in the last two months. In such a situation, America has proposed a ceasefire of 60 days. It seems that both Israel and Lebanon are ready to admit that both sides are tired of the Israel-Lebanon Hezbollah war, which began with the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. Therefore it is natural that both would be willing to accept the ceasefire.
Boussab, deputy speaker of the Lebanese parliament, told reporters that the 60-day deadline was reasonable. So the Israeli army will get enough time to return and the Lebanese army to deploy, but the question is who will monitor these two operations 24 hours?
Suggesting a solution to this, America said that the replacement of forces will be monitored by a five-member committee under the leadership of America. France should also be included in this.
It is noteworthy that after Turkey’s defeat in the First World War, Israel under its control was put under British mandate and Lebanon under French mandate, so France still has some influence there.
