Gopalganj, August 21 (HS). A meeting was organized under the chairmanship of District Election Officer cum DM Md Maqsood Alam in the Collectorate Auditorium on the subject of rationalization of polling centers and pre-revision activities.
In the meeting, Deputy Election Officer Dr. Shashi Prakash Rai said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, in the sequence of special summary revision of the electoral list on the basis of eligibility date January 1, 2025, rationalization of polling stations has to be ensured under pre-revision activities.
In view of the increase in the number of voters currently under process due to special summary revision and continuous foot march on the basis of eligibility date 1 January 2025, it has been decided to reorganize the polling stations on the basis of 1400 standard in order to rationalize so that sudden increase in the number of polling stations at the time of future elections can be limited.
