Jabalpur, July 10 (HS). New things are coming to light regarding fake copy books and illegal fee collection. In which the book sellers used to order books 2 months in advance but the school list was released later. Along with this, schools have been increasing their fees in an illegal manner. During the action taken by the collector against private schools, the matter has reached the court and with this, gradually layer by layer revelations are being made. The orders and bills of books submitted by the book sellers and publishers in the court mention 125 books to be ordered in each bill. On this figure of 125, the court has asked the question that why only 125 books are ordered. Then after this, the government advocate put forward another fact that the book sellers used to order these books two months before the list of books released by the school operators. By them doing this, there is a clear collusion with the schools. The most important thing is that the bookseller informed the court about the order of 125 books but could not give a clear answer to the court about the order placed two months ago.
It is being said by the advocate of the school operators that the increased fees which has been termed as illegal recovery were duly given receipts to the parents. In response to this, the government told that under the Madhya Pradesh Private School Act 2017, it is clear that any school can increase the fees only when its annual expenditure is more than 90% of the profit. And not only this, if the school increases the fees by even 10%, then an application has to be given to the District Committee for that. The Chairman of this committee is the District Collector. After this, if the fee has to be increased by more than 10%, then this application is sent to the State Committee and if the increase is to be made by more than 15%, then it becomes necessary to take permission from the Central Committee in this application. With this permission, the information about the fee increase has to be displayed from the portal of the state government to the school's information board. But the accused school operators did not do anything like this. The fees have been increased by hiding the facts. Along with this, according to the government advocate, the fee collected from the parents is against the rules and it comes under the purview of illegal recovery.
