Khartoum: 31 people were killed in an airstrike on a mosque in Wad-Madani, the main city of Gezira province in central Sudan. A local voluntary organization has given this information. The Wad Madani Struggle Committee said in a statement on Tuesday that warplanes dropped explosive bombs on the Sheikh al-Ziwi mosque and the adjacent al-Imtidad neighborhood after evening prayers on Sunday. 31 people died in this.

Actually, there has been a conflict going on between North and South Sudan for years. So the bombs keep raining. But this time the rain of bombs on the mosque is becoming unforgivable.

15 of those killed in this bomb blast have been identified. The rest have not been identified yet. However, no party has made any comment regarding this incident.

In Sudan, the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) took over Niger province in December 2023 after the Sudanese army withdrew from the city of Wad-Madani. According to a report by the Armed Conflict Location and Data Project on 14 October, 24,850 people have been killed in the conflict so far. It is noteworthy that there is a continuous conflict going on between North Sudan and South Sudan.
