A massive bomb blast has taken place in Afghanistan's capital Kabul. At least one person has died in a bomb blast in a minivan. The terrorist organization Islamic State has claimed responsibility for this attack on Monday. The terrorist group said in a statement that it carried out the blast targeting members of the Shia minority community. The number of people injured and killed in the bomb blast carried out by Islamic State is said to be 13.
Other Shia areas were also targeted
According to a police officer, a bomb blast took place in the western part of Kabul city on Monday. He said that one civilian died and 11 people were injured in the blast. Further, the police officer said that this bomb blast took place in Dashte Barachi area. Police has started investigation. Dashte Barachi area of Kabul is often targeted by IAS allies. These groups have also carried out many attacks on schools, hospitals, mosques. Not only this, attacks are also taking place in the country where people of Shia community live.
Islamic State has carried out attacks before
Islamic State has previously carried out attacks targeting the Shia community in Afghanistan. IS terrorists have carried out attacks in Kabul and other parts of the country. In 2021, a bomb exploded at a Shia mosque in Kunduz, Afghanistan, killing more than 50 people and injuring more than 100. Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack. In 2023, a major bomb threat was made targeting the Shia community at Zaman Mosque in Balaghan province of Afghanistan. In which 15 people died and many were injured.
