Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal casts his vote at a polling booth in Mumbai. After casting his vote, he showed the ink marks on his finger to the media and targeted those who did not vote in the elections. “There should be some rules for people who do not vote, like increasing taxes or some other punishment,” he said.

After voting, Paresh Rawal spoke to the media and stressed the importance of participation in the elections. The actor said, “Then you will say, the government is not doing this, it is not doing that. So if you do not vote today, you, not the government, will be responsible.” Rawal urged citizens to take responsibility for their citizenship duties.
Rawal also suggested punishing non-voters
Along with this, Rawal also suggested punishing those who did not vote. “There should be some rules for people who don't vote, like a tax increase or some other punishment,” he said. Earlier, several Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor also voted from various constituencies in Mumbai.
Voting on total 13 seats in Maharashtra today
Voting is taking place on a total of 13 seats in Maharashtra today in the fifth phase. Out of these 13 seats, 6 are in Mumbai. Voting is going on in Mumbai North, Mumbai North West, Mumbai North East, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai South and Mumbai South Central seats. Apart from this, people are also casting their votes in Dindori, Nashik, Kalyan, Palghar and Bhiwandi and Thane of Maharashtra. The fate of many leaders including prominent candidates Piyush Goyal, Ujjwal Nikam and Shrikant Shinde will be sealed in EVMs today.
