Mumbai: Bollywood actress Noor Malbika Das, who worked with Kajol in the web series 'The Trial', committed suicide in her Oshiwara flat. Noor's mutilated body was found strangled to death. Police said on Monday that the actress is said to be suffering from depression and is undergoing treatment.
During investigation, the police found out that Lokhandwala Moor was living in a rented flat in Oshiwara. The neighbour noticed a strong smell coming from the flat and informed the police.
The police team broke the door. On searching the flat, Noor's body was found strangled to a ceiling fan. The police found a table and rope at the scene. Apart from this, medicines, mobile phones, diaries were found during the search operation. The deceased did not have any suicide note.
The police sent the body to Goregaon Hospital for post-mortem.
Police said that 'Actress Noor was suffering from depression and was undergoing treatment. She was taking medicines.
An official said, 'We have contacted the actress' family. He had returned to his native place a week ago.
The police contacted the family, but no one came forward to claim the body. Finally, the police cremated Noor yesterday with the help of Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO.
The police have registered a case of accidental death report in this matter. A thorough investigation has been conducted to find out the real reason behind the suicide.
The actress' friend Aloknath Pathak said, 'I am shocked to hear this information. I knew Noor for many years. We worked together in many films and serials.'
Earlier, actor Sushant Singh Rajput had ended his life by hanging himself, which caused an uproar in Bollywood.
