Thousands of Hindu supporters held a huge demonstration under the auspices of Hindu Raksha Sangharsh Samiti at Ramlila Maidan in the city against the violence and atrocities being committed by Islamic fundamentalists on Hindus in Bangladesh. After the demonstration, angry Hindus marched to the District Magistrate’s office and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President to the District Magistrate.
Thousands of people participated in the protest by Hindu supporters. Addressing them, senior social worker Ramesh expressed deep concern over the recent events happening in Bangladesh. He said that Hindus and the minorities there are being targeted in Bangladesh. Their temples, houses and offices are being looted and set on fire. Properties are being looted. Hindu women are being raped on a large scale. Hindu families are being forcibly converted. If they do not do so, they are being massacred. He said that the incidents happening with Hindus in Bangladesh are terrorizing the entire world and the Hindu community living there. He said that after the plight of Hindus in Pakistan, now Bangladesh is also following the path of Pakistan and adopting terrorist behavior towards Hindus. Efforts at regime change in Bangladesh have inspired the country to move towards Islamic jihad. If similar treatment continues towards Hindus in Bangladesh then the entire Hindu society of India will be ready to fight for the Hindu society of Bangladesh.
After this, prominent people from various organizations also expressed their anger over the horrific atrocities being committed on Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh and told the President about India’s tough stance towards Bangladesh and appropriate action. The speakers expressed their anger over the current situation in Bangladesh. Also called for stopping the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh and for the unconditional release of ISKCON Bangladesh chief Swami Chinmay Krishna. After this, after the protest at Ramlila Maidan, thousands of men, women and children held placards with the words Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Jai Shri Ram, Stop Atrocities on Hindus of Bangladesh etc. and raised slogans to protect the Hindus of Bangladesh. From Ramlila Maidan, reached the District Magistrate’s office via LIC Tiraha, Hanumangarhi Temple, Vijay Cinema Road, Chowk, Senani Umashankar Square, Okdenganj Police Post, Chittu Pandey Square, Roadways.
