Kulgam, 07 May (HS). Two terrorists have been killed by security forces in an encounter that started on Tuesday morning in Redwani Pine area of Kulgam district. Bodies of two terrorists have been recovered from the encounter site. The security forces have launched a search operation, hence the identity of the killed terrorists will be known after the completion of the operation.
Police officials said that security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Redwani village of Kulgam late on Monday evening after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the area. The firing from both sides stopped late in the night but the security forces strengthened their siege and sealed all the entry and exit routes.
He said that the encounter started again on Tuesday morning. During heavy firing from both sides, the house in which the terrorists were hiding caught fire. The officer said two bodies were seen at the encounter site and efforts were on to rescue them. He said that information about the identity of the slain terrorists can be given only after the bodies are recovered.
