Politics of Jharkhand: Jharkhand politics has heated up after the controversial statement given by Bhanu Pratap Shahi, BJP MLA from Bhawanathpur, on Hemant Soren at the BJP workers' conference in Ranchi. Bhanu Pratap Shahi's statement is being linked to JMM tribal identity and is being made an issue.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been filed against Bhanu Pratap Shahi in Ramna police station of Garhwan on Tuesday. FIR against Bhanu Pratap Shahi was lodged by Jajumo worker Rajendra Oraon. Police has started action by registering a case under ST-SC Act.

Tribal CM accused of making objectionable remarks

In the FIR, JMM worker Rajendra alleged that MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi had made derogatory remarks against tribal Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the party workers' conference in Ranchi.

What was Bhanu Pratap's comment on Hemant Soren?

A Zazumo worker alleged that Bhanupratap in his address repeatedly scolded his own workers while talking about removing Bochi Jhali from power because he was a tribal. Such an act of Bhanupratap Shahi has been done with the intention of insulting the tribal Chief Minister, which has been circulated in regional and national media including social media.

Sadness and anger in the tribal community

The tribal society is saddened and angered by the comment made regarding a tribal Chief Minister. Such statements can increase the risk of class conflict between tribal and non-tribal communities.

A case was registered under strict sections

In the petition filed by Rajendra, the police station has registered a case under several stringent sections including SC/ST and IT Act. Police Inspector Ratan Kumar Singh is investigating the case.
