Haldwani, September 18 (HS). Indian men's hockey team player Bobby Singh Dhami was given a grand welcome in Haldwani after the FIH Pro League and Olympic Camp held in Antwerp, Belgium. BJP District President Pratap Bisht, State Spokesperson Vikas Bhagat and State Spokesperson Prakash Rawat welcomed and felicitated Bobby Dhami by putting a turban on him at the BJP office.
On this occasion, BJP District President Pratap Bisht wished Bobby Dhami a bright future and said that after the formation of Uttarakhand, Bobby Dhami is the first player to make it to the Indian Senior Hockey Team. This achievement is a big achievement for the youth of the state. He said that his selection will inspire the young players of the state to move forward.
Dham's hockey coach and Deputy District Sports Officer Nainital Varun Belwal said that Bobby Dhami is a very talented player, who remains disciplined during the match and uses technical skills with full mental alertness, Bobby has made his debut with the senior team in the Australia tour and scored a brilliant goal against Australia.
Earlier in June, he won the gold medal as a member of the Indian men's team at the FIH 5'E held in Lausanne, Switzerland and participated in the 2021 and 2023 Junior World Cup as the vice-captain of the Indian team.
