Here, due to superstition and suspicion of being a ‘witch’, three members of the same family were hacked to death with an ax and sharp weapons. This triple murder has shocked the entire state. Taking prompt action, the police arrested both the main accused brothers, who have confessed to their crime.

According to the police, this incident happened late on Sunday night. Two brothers from the same village suspected that the “witchcraft” of the family living next door was behind the illnesses and deaths in their family.
Brutal murder: The accused brothers attacked the house of the victim’s family in the dark of night. He attacked a woman and two men with an axe, causing all three to die on the spot.
Roots of superstition: The accused believed that the woman was a ‘witch’ and due to her witchcraft, they were facing problems in their house.
Police action and arrest
As soon as the news of the murder was received, the police team reached the spot on the instructions of Gumla SP.
Arrest: Police raided the village and caught both the accused brothers. The weapons used in the murder have also been recovered from them.
Post mortem of dead bodies: The police have taken all three bodies into their custody and sent them to Gumla Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
