Una, September 8 (HS). The three-day block level under-19 sports competition going on at Government Senior Secondary School Tikka concluded on Sunday. On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the competition, Kutlahar area MLA Vivek Sharma participated as the chief guest. While Deputy Education Director Rajendra Kaushal and former captain of Indian volleyball team Surjeet Singh Rana were present as special guests. The chief guest honored the winning and runner-up teams of the competition by giving them mementos and wished them a bright future.
Addressing the players, Vivek Sharma said that along with studies, sports also have special importance in life. CM Sukhbindra Singh Sukhu's government is doing excellent work in the field of education and sports in Himachal Pradesh. Sukhu government has increased the diet money of the players so that players can get good facilities. Sports develop our physical and intellectual development. Therefore, children should participate in sports along with studies.
He said that the players of Himachal Pradesh are bringing laurels to the country, state and their village at the international level. Vivek Sharma donated an amount of Rs. 5100 for the school on his behalf. School Principal Varinder Kapil presented the report of the sports competition held in three days. Before this, former captain of Indian volleyball team Surjeet Rana also addressed the players and motivated them to give their best in sports. The players displayed their talent in the final matches played on the last day of the competition. The final match of chess was played between RVMAPA Dhamandri and High School Tanoh. In which RVMAPA Dhamandri School was the winner. The overall title in the wrestling sports competition went to RVMAPA Thanakalan, while RVMAPA Basal was the runner-up. In the Kho-Kho competition, RVMAPA Dhundla was the winner and RVMAPA Mandli was the runner-up. In volleyball, RVMAPA Bangana won the title of winner by defeating RVMAPA Arlu. In the Kabaddi competition, RVMAPA Thanakalan was the winner and RVMAPA Budhan was the runner-up.
In badminton matches, DAV Lathiani won the title of winner by defeating RAVMAPA Bangana. On this occasion, Deputy Education Director, Principal of the host school Varindra Kapil, Vivek Jaswal, PR Bhatia, Jagroop Rana, Yashpal Singh, Arun Sharma, Praveen Kumar, DPE Asim Kumar, Raman Kumar, Manoj Kumar and other staff were present.
On the other hand, Surjeet Singh of Hatli village, who has been the captain of the Indian volleyball team, said that good diet and rest are most important for a player. Nowadays it is seen that players do not take proper diet and rest. Due to which they start taking drugs and slowly become addicts. Therefore, players must take good sleep and diet.
