There has been a blackout in Hisar due to the storm that came at 9 pm on Thursday night. People upset with the power supply not being restored till morning have started complaining to Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on social media. People allege that the electricity corporation deliberately cuts power.
More than 150 electricity poles and trees are estimated to have fallen due to the storm. About four lakh electricity consumers of the district are facing problems for the last two days. Due to the storm, trees fell on the main roads of the city as well as on rural roads. At many places in the district including Urban Estate, South Bypass, Aryanagar to Ludas Road, Siwani, Industrial Area Roads The roads remained closed. At many places, people themselves lifted trees and opened the roads. The Haryana Agricultural Meteorological Department had predicted winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour. Strong winds coming from Rajasthan brought dust clouds with them. Meteorologist Dr. Madan Khichad said that there is a possibility of dusty winds today, but after this the effect of western disturbance will end after Saturday afternoon.

Due to this, the employees of the Electricity Corporation kept trying to restore electricity from the night itself. Along with this, people got some relief from the heat due to light rain in the morning. The teams of the Electricity Corporation went to the fields in the morning itself and were busy taking stock of the damage caused by the storm till noon. A report has been issued by the Electricity Corporation in the afternoon, in which it has been told that the storm has caused a lot of damage. Power supply has not been restored in many places yet. Along with this, the work of replacing the damaged transformers is also going on.
