Bhopal, 26 September (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that black marketing of fertilizers and seeds will not be tolerated in the state. He directed that strictest action should be taken against those found involved in black marketing. There is no shortage of fertilizers and seeds for farmers in the Rabi season. For this, arrangements should be made for storage and supply of fertilizers and seeds from now on.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the status of availability and distribution of fertilizers and seeds at his residence office Samatva Bhawan late Thursday evening. In the meeting, Farmers Welfare and Agricultural Development Minister Adal Singh Kanshana, Chief Secretary Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister's Office Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary and Agriculture Production Commissioner Mohammad Suleman and Additional Chief Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agricultural Development Ashok Varnwal and other officials. Were present.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that agricultural development officers at the block level should be given training by October 15. He said that after identifying the areas for sowing crops in the state, arrangements for fertilizers and seeds should be made as per requirement. There should be adequate availability of fertilizers and seeds in the months of October-November, so that farmers do not face any inconvenience. He said that the availability of fertilizers and seeds will be discussed with public representatives and district officials through video conferencing.

DAP allocation increased due to Chief Minister's efforts

It was informed in the meeting that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the allocation of DAP by the Government of India has been increased to 8 lakh metric tonnes, whereas consent was given for allocation of 6 lakh metric tonnes of DAP for Rabi 2024-25. Instructions were issued to districts for use of NPK in place of DAP, which did not reflect DAP shortage in Kharif 2024. Sufficient quantity of urea and SSP is available in the state to meet the shortage of DAP.
