Black marketing of Coldplay and Diljit concert tickets, ED raids in big cities including Delhi-Mumbai

ED Raid: Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bengaluru in the case of illegal sale of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh's Dilluminati concert tickets. The name of Diljit Dosanjh's show is 'Dilluminati' and the name of Coldplay's show is 'Music of the Spheres World Tour'. BookMyShow and Zomato Live, the main official ticketing partners of both the concerts, said that all the tickets on their platforms were sold out within minutes. Due to which black marketing of tickets has started.

Case of selling fake tickets of Diljit Dosanjh's show

Following the brisk sale of tickets, many complaints of fraud through sale of fake tickets are coming to light. Many people found that they were sold counterfeit tickets or were overcharged for legitimate tickets. Many FIRs have been registered in this regard in many states. BookMyShow has also filed an FIR against several suspects.

ED raid in illegal ticket sale case

ED has investigated this case under money laundering. On October 25, raids were conducted at more than 13 locations in 5 states Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Chandigarh. Many objectionable materials like mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards have been seized during the raid.

The objective of the operation is to investigate the black market of tickets and the financial networks involved in this scam and trace the proceeds of crime earned from such illegal activities. ED investigation revealed that fake tickets were being sold using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram.

The federal agency said tickets are generally available on Zomato, BookMyShow and other platforms. But when demand is high, these tickets sell out quickly, forcing people to look for alternative sources. The raids and investigation conducted by the ED have revealed several people who are known to provide such tickets through social media using Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram, the ED said in a statement. This also includes fake tickets. It said that several materials like mobile phones, laptops, SIM cards etc. used in the ticket sale scam have been seized which prove the crime.
