Dehradun, September 24 (HS). Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman and Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey will visit Jyotirmath in the first week of October. They will hold a meeting with the disaster affected and local people here and listen to their problems.
Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Chairman Ajendra Ajay held a meeting with Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman at the Secretariat on Tuesday and discussed the Jyotirmath disaster. BKTC Vice President Kishore Singh Panwar was also present in the meeting. During this, the BKTC Chairman stressed the need to work fast for the remedial work of Jyotirmath town and to resolve the problems of the affected. He suggested the Disaster Management Secretary to visit Jyotirmath and hold a meeting with the affected and local people. On which Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Suman said that he will visit Jyotirmath in the first week of October along with Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Chamoli District Magistrate and other officials and hold a meeting with the local people.
The secretary said that the government is serious about the safety of Jyotirmath town. A detailed project report (DPR) is being prepared for the construction of a security wall etc. Security works will be started as soon as the DPR is ready. Efforts are also being made to resolve the problem by talking to the local people regarding the rehabilitation of the displaced people.
