Varanasi, 23 September (HS). Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashi region has made a big mark in the party organization in the membership campaign. The number of primary membership from Kashi region has exceeded 12 lakhs till 22 September. This number is of those primary members who have taken membership by completing the form and other necessary formalities. The number of people who became members through missed call has not been included in it yet. More than one crore people have taken membership of BJP in entire Uttar Pradesh so far. BJP Kashi region president Dilip Patel gave this information on Monday.
He informed that the membership drive was started in Kashi region from 04 September. Organizationally, 16 districts are included in Kashi region. Till 22 September, more than 12 lakh people have joined the party by filling the form and completing the necessary formalities. The number of people who became members through missed call on 8800002024 is yet to be added to these figures. While giving information about the district wise membership numbers, the area president said that till September 22, 80811 in Varanasi district, 80559 in the metropolis, 78721 in Chandauli, 74222 in Bhadohi, 87976 in Ghazipur, 60359 in Jaunpur, 44203 in Machhali Shahar, 1,15,425 in Mirzapur, 1,12,385 in Pratapgarh, 60029 in Prayagraj Gangapar, 1,07371 in Prayagraj metropolis, 42713 in Prayagraj Yamunapar, 45369 in Amethi, 42152 in Kaushambi, 62550 in Sonbhadra and 72925 people in Sultanpur have taken the membership of the party.
Regional President Dilip Patel said that the workers are very excited about the organisation festival and they have crossed the 12 lakh mark by celebrating it as a festival. He has appointed Kashi region's General Secretary Sushil Tripathi as the coordinator of the membership campaign, who is engaged in giving momentum to this campaign. Kashi region's media in-charge Navratan Rathi said that regional president Dilip Patel has been continuously visiting various districts of Kashi region since September 04 and is going door-to-door to give momentum to this organisation festival membership campaign.
