Itanagar, June 13 (HS). Arunachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislative Party leader Pema Khandu will take over the reins of the state today. Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) KT Parnayak will administer the oath of office and secrecy to him. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, four Chief Ministers of Northeast including Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Nagaland's Neiphiu Rio, Tripura's Dr. Manik Saha, Manipur's N Biren Singh and many VIPs will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
It is noteworthy that BJP has won a clear majority by winning more than three-fourths of the seats in the 60-member assembly. In the election, BJP got 46 seats, NPP got five, NCP got three, PPA got two and Congress got one seat. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, BJP has created history this time by breaking its previous record. For the third time in the state, BJP has come to power with a single majority.
