Haryana Assembly Election Result 2024: There are many reasons for BJP's historic third victory in Haryana. Veteran leaders of BJP have contributed to this victory. Along with the popularity of PM Modi, the strategy of Dharmendra Pradhan, the chief strategist of the saffron party and close to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has played an important role in BJP's hat-trick. Behind the scenes, he made strategies on different fronts to defeat the opponent. Before this he had done such a feat in his home state Odisha.
Before the Haryana elections, he was given the responsibility of Uttarakhand in 2017 and Uttar Pradesh in 2022. He was also given the responsibility of 2021 elections in West Bengal. Although many leaders were given responsibility in Bengal, but the command of Nandigram was with Dharmendra Pradhan. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lost the election from this seat.
BJP sources say that for these reasons the party has entrusted him with the responsibility in Haryana also. BJP was struggling with anti-incumbency wave in Haryana. Apart from this, the rebels have also increased the concern of the party. There, the BJP was faced with Jats, farmers, Sena candidates unhappy with the Agniveer scheme, party workers unhappy with the Congress' heavy campaigning and rebels within the BJP unhappy with the ticket distribution.
According to sources, Dharmendra Pradhan's planning had started with his presence at the venue. He did not leave Haryana for more than a month. They set up camps in Rohtak, Kurukshetra and Panchkula. Worked at the grassroots level. Listened to party workers and leaders and contacted the central leadership on their behalf. Infused enthusiasm among the workers, demolished BJP's campaign and helped in candidate selection.
According to a BJP leader, Dharmendra Pradhan used to go to the grassroots level and hold small meetings. Took real time feedback from workers and promptly rectified defects by informing management. He pacified dissidents in Haryana, identified weak booths and recruited strong workers from other forces. He also reduced the tension that arose after the preparation of the list of candidates.
BJP sources said that 'by the time of withdrawal of nominations, the party had to face only three out of about 25 rebels. After the announcement of the names of BJP candidates, there came a time when it seemed that a rebel BJP candidate would spoil the game. More than two dozen rebel leaders had intended to contest the elections, but the success of Dharmendra Pradhan and his team was such that by the time the date of withdrawal of nomination papers approached, only three rebels were left. His efforts brought good results. The BJP has registered its third consecutive victory in Haryana and won 48 of the 90 assembly seats in the state. Congress has won 37 seats.
