Kolkata, August 20 (HS). The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again launched a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee's government over the RG Kar rape and murder case. The party's IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared a video of the hearing of this case in the Supreme Court on Tuesday and said, see how Mamata Banerjee's government has strongly argued in court to save the accused by ignoring the victim. Targeting the state government, Amit Malviya has alleged that the Mamata Banerjee government has protected the criminals in this case and done injustice to the victims.

He said that in the case of R.G. Kar Medical College, a student was raped and murdered, after which there were protests and a demand for an investigation into the entire matter was raised. But the state government defended the principal accused in this case and ignored the statements of the victim student's family.

Amit Malviya said in his tweet that the state government's lawyer and former Congress minister Kapil Sibal tried to hide the government's failure in this case in the court, which is not only inhuman but also a cruel joke with justice.

Malviya also alleged that the Kolkata Police, which is under Mamata Banerjee, also showed failure in this case. When the protest at R.G. Kar Medical College was being attacked, the police ran away from there and they showed failure in ensuring the safety of the doctors. This incident is a symbol of the failure of Mamata Banerjee government, where the government protected the accused instead of helping the victim.

Given the gravity of the case, the Calcutta High Court ordered a CBI probe, but by then the state police had tampered with the evidence.

According to Amit Malviya, instead of providing justice to the victim in this case, the Mamata Banerjee government supported the accused, which raises serious questions on the policies and functioning of the state government.
