Agartala, June 04 (HS). Tripura's ruling party BJP has won both the Lok Sabha seats in the state. Former Chief Minister of the state Biplab Kumar Deb has achieved a historic victory. He defeated his nearest rival Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha by a margin of 611578 votes.
According to the Election Commission of India, BJP candidate Biplab Kumar Deb from Tripura West seat has won by a margin of 611578 votes by getting a total of 881341 votes. Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha got a total of 269763 votes, independent candidate Ramendra Reyang got 8932 votes, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) candidate Arun Kumar Bhowmick got 8784 votes, independent candidate Gauri Shankar Nandi got 8114 votes, independent Milan Pad Murasing got 6652 votes, independent Balram Debbarma got 4479 votes, independent Brajlal Debnath got 3683 votes, Republican Party of India (A)'s Arnab Roy got 3449 votes. A total of 14612 votes were cast on NOTA.
On the other hand, BJP candidate from Tripura East seat Kriti Devi Debbarman won by a margin of 486819 votes by getting a total of 777447 votes. Communist Party of India (Marxist)'s Rajendra Reyang got a total of 290628 votes, Independent Archana Urang got 10922 votes, Independent Darshan Kumar Reyang got 9269 votes, Independent Santojoy Tripura got 6862 votes, Independent Shib Chandra Debbarma got 6719 votes, Independent Shatrughan Jamatia got 5967 votes, Independent Krishna Mohan Jamatia got 4217 votes, Independent Kalpa Mohan Tripura got 4011 votes. 18303 votes were cast on NOTA.
